Together We Can...

Connecticut is playing host to a very special event in April of 2008.

For 15 days, The Sifa Children’s Choir, a group consisting of 20 orphans (ages 9 - 13) from Uganda, will be rehearsing and recording an album in preparation for a 6-month tour of the U.S. to help raise money for their fellow poor and homeless back in Africa.   4E Productions, LLC along with First Image Inc., will be producing the album, a music video and a documentary of this extraordinary story.   The tour is set to begin in Virginia the first week in May.

The featured song of their album promises to be a global anthem uniting people all over the world.  “Together We Can Change the World,” with music and lyrics by songwriter Mark Shepard is a powerful, inspirational song that has a galvanizing effect.  Rilee O’Neill, a charming 12-year-old with an enchanting voice, is the featured vocalist who will be joined en force by a “Choir of Angels.”  The Darien and Bridgeport Choirs will join the Sifa Choir in a majestic rendition, essentially uniting two countries in one voice and tying together one message.  So, in April, the choirs will merge in one voice and rejoice in an astonishing song inspired by an extraordinary story.

Together We Can Change The World, Inc.
The SIFA Choir is being brought to the United States by Together We Can Change the World Inc. Years of being involved in helping others has instilled a deep passion in Ginny Dye, founder and CEO, to create tools to help individuals, organizations and businesses make a difference in their world. It was this passion that led to the creation & development of Together We Can Change the World, Inc. The umbrella company for My Power Mall, Together We Can Change The World Day, Together We Can Change The World Publishing, and more…
Ginny's focus is on developing as many strategic alliances as possible to make the SIFA Choir tour the most powerful it can be – pouring money back to Uganda to give assistance to as many AIDS orphans as possible.

The SIFA Choir
The SIFA Africa Children's Choir is a special group of children chosen to come to the United States as representatives of their fellow orphans and suffering children not only in their native country of Uganda, but Africa
at large.

The word SIFA is Swahili for Praise, and stands for the praise these children wish to bring to God for giving them the opportunity to be a small part of the solution of bringing hope back to their suffering country. These children have endured countless horrors and losses in their young lives and have given voice to their plight through song, music and dance.  It is through their songs that the SIFA Children want their story to be heard.  They have come to raise support to complete the Glory Children City Project in Masaka, Uganda, East Africa which will be home to many of the choir members and other orphaned children as it develops into a fully operational Orphan Care Project and School.  We encourage you to join and support these children with their songs of hope, courage, and love to foster an attitude of unity as they begin their first US tour in April 2008.

The Music Video
During their two-week stay in Connecticut, the Sifa choir will take a part in a music video of “Together We Can Change the World.”  The integrated choirs will be seen singing in studio, playing in open fields and ultimately uniting for one purpose.  The song, combined with visual images, should provide quite a powerful message.

The Documentary
You know the inspiration behind the song, but the inspiration behind the cause and the fascinating stories that come together in this epic tale will be part of a 60-minute documentary that will be produced by FirstImage. Imagine a community where 85% of the people die of Aids and the average age is 16-years-old.  Imagine homes with no parents, houses with no floors and children with no food. Sounds hopeless, right?  Wrong.  In fact, that’s at the core of this amazing story: The joy and hope that resonates in the voices of this magical singing group.  A crew will be flying over to Kampala, capital of Uganda, to join the choir as they prepare for their journey to the U.S.   The entire history of the Sifa Choir will be chronicled along with every adventure they experience during the 6-month process, beginning with the flight to Dulles Airport in April and extending to mid-September when they return to their native Africa.

Together We Can Change the World - Lyrics

1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8
I believe it’s not too late
Together we can change the world
What if we spoke with one voice,
Knowing that we have a choice?
Together we can change the world

(REFRAIN)
Can’t do it by myself
So I’m asking for your help
Together we can change the world
Sail past where it’s been charted
Roll your sleeves up let’s get started
Together we can change the world
Together we can change the world

With our hands and with our hearts
We can dare to make a start
Together we can change the world
Lay the puzzle pieces out
Find out what it’s all about
Together we can change the world

REFRAIN

Change your mind and change your life
Set aside the fear and strife
Together we can change the world
When we open up our eyes
Then we start to realize
Together we can change the world

REFRAIN

1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8
I believe it’s not too late
Together we can change the world

The children of the Sifa Choir so wonderfully demonstrate the power of song and are symbols of hope and unity to the world.  Their courageous efforts should inspire us all to do what we can to make a difference.  In that spirit, we are creating a web site for Rilee O’Neill that will feature songs that are fun yet address social issues that impact all children.  We call it broccoli that’s good for you.  The first album of inspirational songs is part of a musical production called “Letters To Daddy” that will debut next month.  One of the songs, “Music is a Bridge” was inspired by the real-life characters in the Sifa Choir.  Come back in April for the launch of RileeO.com.
